Baby Love: Formula and Diaper Deals 5/8-5/14

$5 or $3 off Similac product, SS 4/03
(makes it FREE-$1.99)

Cheap Diapers at Walgreens!

$3 RR WYB (2) Pampers Jumbo Pack Diapers at $9 each

*If you have a $5 or $2 RR from the diaper deal a few weeks ago – USE IT!  However you will need to buy diapers AND wipes to use it.  Currently, there is a month long Pampers RR promo – $5 off coupon when you buy $20 or $2 off coupon when you buy $10 in Pampers products.  It is good on your next Pampers purchase and expires 7/4/11.  Walgreens treats this coupon like another RR.  This will print in addition to the $3 RR advertised.

Also, there are some higher value $2 Pampers manufacturers coupons floating around in various home mailers, so you may have those too.  I have only listed the latest coupon from  the P&G Saver insert for this scenario.  Here is what I did…

Transaction 1:

(2) packs of Pampers Diapers @$9

(1) pack Pampers Wipes @ $2.99

Use:

  • (1) $2 off Pampers Cruisers, Swaddlers, or Swaddlers Sensitive diapers, Walgreens Infant Care booklet (Walgreens coupon – will take off $4 if you buy 2)
  • (1) $1.50 off Pampers diapers or pants, PG 5/01
  • (1) $2 off Pampers, Have You Tried This Yet P&G home mailer
  • (1) $2 RR from earlier diaper deal

Paid: $13 and got $8 back in RR

Final Cost: $7 or $2.33/each!

Transaction 2:

(2) packs of Pampers Diapers @$9

(3) 12 cent filler items

Use:

  • (1) $2 off Pampers Cruisers, Swaddlers, or Swaddlers Sensitive diapers, Walgreens Infant Care booklet (Walgreens coupon – will take off $4 if you buy 2)
  • (2) $1.50 off Pampers diapers or pants, PG 5/01
  • (1) $5 RR from first transaction
  • (1) $3 RR from first transaction (you won’t get another $3 RR if you use this one to pay)

Paid: $4.77 and got $2 back in RR

Final Cost: $2.77 or $1.39/each!

NOTE: Walgreens is a little difficult with stacking coupons and depending on the cashier, a manager may need to assist.  I have found that typically the cashier just doesn’t understand the process, but the manager does.  However, for diapers this cheap its worth the hassle!

Also, the Offer of the Week is $2/1 Wisk laundry detergent – you will see the link at the top of the Coupons.com page.

The Deal: Cheap Diapers at Walgreens

Walgreens has the diaper deal this week.  If you have Register Rewards to use this deal is even sweeter!

$5 RR with $20 purchase or $2 RR with $10 purchase of participating Pampers products – This is a Register Reward, but can only be used on a purchase of Pampers diapers AND wipes.

Pampers Jumbo Pack Diapers Swaddlers, Cruisers, Easy-ups, or Baby Dry – $8.99 each
Pampers wipes 60-72 ct – $2.49 each

Here is what I did – I paid in 2 transactions at the store to get the most bang for my buck:

Transaction #1:

  • (2) Jumbo Pack Pampers Swaddlers @ $8.99
  • (1) Pack Sensitive Wipes @ $2.49
  • (2) Reese’s Eggs @ $0.39 (filler items)
  • (1) Cadbury Egg @ $0.39 (filler items)

Used:

  • (2) $1.50 off Pampers – P&G 4/3
  • (1) $2 off Pampers (Walgreens coupon) Infant Care Booklet
  • (1) $1.00 off Pampers wipes – found in a Pampers box I purchased
  • (2) $5 RR from previous weeks
  • (1) $4 RR from previous weeks

Paid: $3.32 ($1.68 tax)

Got $5 off my next Pampers purchase

So, I got all this for FREE, plus a $1.68 profit.

NOTE: I tried to use 2 of the Walgreens diaper coupons, but my total was too low ($1.64 before tax) so the computer wouldn’t accept it.  Also, the Walgreens coupons seemed to be causing an issue in the system, but the cashier was very helpful and patient and got it to work.

Transaction #2:

  • (1) Jumbo Pack Pampers Swaddlers @ $8.99
  • (1) Pack Sensitive Wipes @ $2.49
  • (1) Heshey’s milk chocolate bunny @ $0.39 (filler item)

Used:

  • $5 manufacturer’s coupon from 1st transaction
  • (1) $2 off Pampers (Walgreens coupon) Infant Care Booklet
  • (1) $2 RR from previous weeks

Paid: $3.79 ($0.92 tax)

Got $2 off my next Pampers purchase

Final total out-of-pocket for BOTH transactions minus my coupons ($7 total) I got in return: $0.11!!!

That’s 3 packs of diapers, 2 packs of wipes, and some Easter candy for $0.11!

How To: Shop at Walgreens

Let me start off by saying that I have not been coupon shopping at drug stores, so this is still a learning process for me.  There is a great Walgreens starter guide HERE and other tips HERE.

I do not want to dedicate too much time to drug store couponing because it is more complicated, so for my sanity I made a few rules for myself.  In order for me to make the extra trip to the store these are the criteria that must be met:

  • Has to be an item we use regularly (we are brand specific)
  • Must have a coupon for the item
  • Preferably get RR back for the purchase

My family is very brand specific on what we like to use for personal care products.  So, I just scan through the weekly ad and see if anything jumps out at me.  There are some great deals on personal care items, toilet paper, paper towels, diapers and baby care, plus they have a rewards program.  Walgreens issues Register Rewards (RR) which are manufacturer’s coupons that you use like cash on your next purchase.  You are required to have as many items as you do coupons, so you have to buy filler items (gum, candy, pen, card, etc.) to use your RR if you have a coupon for each item you are purchasing.  I have been working it to my advantage the past couple weeks.

Last week 3/20-3/26

Get $5 in RR with (1) Almay Eye Makeup Remover on sale for $4.19

I bought 3 and used the following:

  • (3) $2 off Almay product from Walgreens Beauty Booklet
  • (1) $2 Almay product found in the 3/06 SmartSource

Final cost: $5.53 (96 cents was tax)

Plus I received $15 in RR – so I made a profit of almost $10!

This week 3/27-4/2

Get $2 in RR with (2) Edge or Skintimate Shave Gel on sale for $2

I bought:

  • 2 Edge Shave Gel @ $2
  • 1 Skintimate Shave Gel @ $1.69 (was supposed to be $2, but I’m not complaining)
  • 1 travel size Dove deodorant @ $1.49 (I needed one for my gym bag, so this was my filler item)

I used:

  • $5 RR from last week
  • (2) .55/1 Edge Shave gel, SS 3/20
  • .55/1 Skintimate shave gel, SS 3/27

Final Cost: $1.09 (56 cents tax)

Plus I received $2 in RR, so I made a 91 cent profit!

Next week 4/3-4/9

$5 RR with $20 purchase or $2 RR with $10 purchase of participating Pampers products:  Pampers Jumbo Pack Swaddlers, Cruisers, Easy Ups or Baby Dry at $8.99 ea.

I truly prefer Pampers over Huggies, so I am excited about this!  I plan on buying 3 Jumbo Packs of Swaddlers and will probably get some Easter candy singles as my fillers.  I haven’t had a Cadbury Egg yet!

I will use:

  • (3) $2 off Pampers Cruisers, Swaddlers, or Swaddlers Sensitive diapers big or jumbo pk.,  Walgreens Infant Care Booklet
  • (3) $1.50 off Pampers diapers, P&G 4/03
  • (2) $5 RR from the first week (will need 2 filler items)
  • (1) $2 RR from the previous week (will need 1 filler item)

Final estimated cost: $5.97 (with $1.50  in filler items factored in) +tax

I will get $5 in RR so that’s like getting 3 packs of diapers for about $1!

If you have little ones, be sure to pick up a new Infant Care Booklet from Walgreens.  I picked up a few (3) last week.  You’ll want to check for it at the beauty counter, but if it’s not there, you may have to ask for it.  Inside are some great coupons for diapers and other infant products!

These are all Walgreens coupons so they can be stacked with manufacturer’s coupons for additional savings.  All of these coupons expire 12/31/11, so you can hang onto them until a great deal comes along.
